Neil Tuazon genuinely cares about helping people and the community. A public servant since the age of fifteen, Neil is deeply passionate about improving people’s lives. “Public service is the voice and representative of the people,” he says. “I love meeting people, asking them how they're doing, and helping them. To me, public service is from my heart.” Neither a politician nor a business owner, Neil offers a fresh perspective as a skilled problem-solver, volunteer, and President of the Filipino Association of Grande Prairie and Area. Now, as a Candidate for City Council, Neil aims to create a safe, caring, diverse, and inclusive Grande Prairie. His main campaign platforms include creating city-supported community sports programs to help take the financial strain off parents, building better roads and infrastructure, and constructing a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility to work with the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Addictions Commission (AADAC) in Grande Prairie. Neil recognizes how fortunate we are to have AADAC, and with that, he also wants to offer a pre-treatment education program outlining the lifelong benefits of getting and staying sober. Above all, Neil values dependability commitment and honesty, wanting to make sure Grande Prairie tax dollars stay local. Neil is a sports guy, a former track and field athlete who likes to go biking and for nature walks. Neil has been happily married 25 years to his beautiful wife, Minerva. Together, they have two grown children, Edward and Albert. One day, Neil would like to explore Western Europe with them.
